WHAT WE DO

The short-term emergency fund for Chicago’s theater community.

Season of Concern Chicago understands the difficulties that arise if a theater artist can’t work. That’s why we are proud to offer emergency financial assistance to Chicago theater makers in times of need.

Season of Concern was founded in 1987 to support Chicago theater practitioners afflicted with AIDS and AIDS-related illnesses. Thankfully as the AIDS crisis has become more manageable, we are able to expand our services to meet the day-to-day needs of theater artists who are impacted by any illness, injury or health related circumstance that prevents them from working.

Donate now so the show can go on for Chicagoland theater practitioners.

OUR VISION

A future where no member of the Chicagoland theater community suffers alone.

HOW WE HELP

The Biscotto-Miller Fund

Created to remember and honor local stage manager, Tommy Biscotto, and actor J. Pat Miller—two early casualties of the AIDS epidemic.

The Malcolm Ewen Emergency Fund

Created to remember long time Season of Concern board member and beloved Production Manager, Malcolm Ewen.

So the show can go on…

We can’t predict when the unexpected will happen. Sometimes that wish to “break a leg” turns into a prophecy. But if you are a theater practitioner in the Chicagoland area, on stage or behind the scenes, and in sudden need, Season of Concern is here to help.

Who can apply?

Season of Concern Chicago supports members of Actors’ Equity Association, as well as Non-Equity theater makers. If your name appears in a local theater program, you’re eligible to apply for short-term financial assistance.
