Black Lives Matter

SEASON OF CONCERN STATEMENT 6.6.20

BLACK LIVES MATTER

You are hurting.  Season of Concern is here for you.

As we struggle to comprehend the events of the past weeks, and share the anger and uncertainty that continues to emerge, Season of Concern stands firmly in solidarity with people in our community, city, and country who every day face violence, hatred and discrimination–simply for being who they are.  As we begin to move forward to erase the bigotry that has infected our society, we ask that you reach out to offer your support to these community allies, each of whom continue to work on the front lines offering help and support to those who need it:

  • THE BOULEVARD (http://www.blvd.org), providing medical respite care, holistic support and housing services to help ill and injured homeless adults rebuild their lives.
  • CORAZON COMMUNITY SERVICES (http://www.corazoncs.org), improving the quality of life for children, youth and families through holistic services offered in a culturally sensitive environment.
  • HEARTLAND ALLIANCE/VITAL BRIDGES FOOD PROGRAM (https://www.heartlandalliance.org/program/vital-bridges-food-program/), providing food and nutrition services to anyone who is HIV+ through its centers on the north, south and west sides.

Season of Concern:  No one should suffer alone.
