Malcolm Ewen Emergency Safety Net Campaign

A note from André De Shields:

The Chicago theater industry has experienced many challenges in the past few years. Quite a few beloved theater makers are still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, and patrons have been slow to return to their favorite theaters.

More and more people have turned to Season of Concern for financial assistance. To meet this urgent need, we are launching our Malcolm Ewen Emergency Safety Net Campaign and are asking for your help! Please make a generous gift today. We have set a goal to raise $20,000 for the Malcolm Ewen Fund by the end of November, to ensure that we are prepared to help as many people as possible as we head into the new year.

A career in the performing arts can be unpredictable, but it has rarely been as challenging as in recent years. The Ewen Fund assists people in the industry affected by emergency situations including loss of a job, accidents, and eviction. The Fund assists local theater artists in dire financial need; they are unable to pay for housing or basic living expenses. Your support will make a significant difference to someone experiencing insecurity and hardship. Please make your tax-deductible gift now to help those in need.

Thank you so much for your dedication to our community!
