“In January of 2020, before the pandemic had even settled upon the world in fullness, I was technically homeless. I even had a letter that stated as much. I spent those first couple months couch surfing through spaces that were physically, mentally, and/or emotionally unsafe. Due to hip replacements over the past seven years I would not have been able to have paid any of my housing expenses without the assistance from the Biscotto-Miller fund. Now with COVID destroying any chance of employment in the near future, I would be in worse shape since I have no return-to-work date and I have no idea when I’ll be able to resume making a steady income. It truly is a blessing to have Season of Concern and the Biscotto- Miller Fund available to help struggling actors. I am truly grateful.”

“I first heard about Season of Concern from Walter L. Sterns and Eugene Dizon owner/operators of The Mercury Theater Chicago. While performing in one of their productions, they mentioned SOC existed. Walter told me about the services and assistance available, how to go about seeking out said services, and with whom to speak. SOC was able to provide much needed financial assistance, and I am incredibly grateful.”

“Season of Concern over the 3 years I’ve reached out, has provided assistance with my rent, gas, internet/cable, and cell phone bills. More recently, they paid off an out of state medical bill incurred when I had to be hospitalized in Michigan. They’ve also – twice now, during the holiday season sent a $100 gift card, which was a lovely surprise.”

“SOC assisting me has meant less stress and worry about what I would do if I found myself too ill to work during a particular period of time. It’s a HUGE comfort to know that while I don’t rely on SOC, they are there if / when I need them. The Actors Fund is also a wonderful organization and is fantastic at making certain that I have every available resource afforded to me. They made the process of applying easy, comfortable.”

– Stage Manager

“Because of this assistance, I have been able to secure and maintain housing and I am back on track to creating a sense of normalcy, even as the woes of the pandemic continue to plague our society. I am eternally grateful.”
